Mink vs. Synthetic- The Most Natural Looking False Lashes

What Are Mink Lashes?
So, what are mink eyelashes made of? They are made from genuine mink fur, which allows for a soft, light, fluffy, and, ultimately, more natural look, matching the same quality of natural human eyelashes. Due to the wider variety of materials and lightweight of the lashes, mink lashes can be reused over and over!

What are synthetic Lashes?
Synthetic eyelashes are the most common type of false lashes, which are made from human-made plastic fibers. The eyelashes tend to be a lot thicker in comparison to the natural human eyelash and are meant to be disposed of only after a single-use.

MINK VS SYNTHETIC LASHES COMPARED
  • Quality and Comfort- Let’s start with two of the most commonly asked questions, which are: How natural do false eyelashes look? Are they comfortable?
Mink
This is where mink lashes take the cake when comparing the two. Mink hairs are naturally fine and soft, which creates a very lightweight experience when wearing the lashes, with a much lower sheen for a natural, beautiful look. Since the eyelash strands are ultra-fine and tapered, they hold a gorgeous curl, and they’re virtually indistinguishable from your natural lashes once applied.

Synthetic
The most common kind of false eyelashes are made from artificial stuff, basically plastic material, which is mostly machine made and meant to be disposable or only for single-use. Due to the design and the elements, synthetic eyelashes tend to be a lot thicker than the typical human eyelashes and have stubbier ends, so there will be a stark contrast between your natural eyelashes, and the synthetic eyelashes you apply.

Since synthetic eyelashes are made from plastic, the band will be stiffer, and the total weight will be more extensive, ultimately making them harder to use (especially for novices) and offer minimum comfort.
  • Price- As people usually say, you get what you pay. Depending on what you want the lashes for; you may want to consider the price differences, which we will outline below!
Mink
I am sure you can understand by now that the Mink lashes are going to be a bit higher in terms of price comparison. The average cost for a single pair of mink eyelashes is around US$30-35 per pair and can be found at beauty/makeup specialty stores, department stores, and of course, online! It’s a superior price point as it’s a more quality product. Though, it can be seen as an investment, as you’ll be able to get multiple wears out of each pair.

Synthetic
Since the materials being used to create synthetic lashes are much cheaper, they are usually a more reasonable option, ranging anywhere from $10 to $20 per pair, and are accessible in varying grades. Some of the pricier options tend to appear a little more natural, as the ends are slightly more tapered. However, they are generally going to look thicker than human lashes. While the price is the main advantage, it’s worth figuring out your overall costs if you’re going to buy more than one pair since they’re not made to be disposed of.
